Second Label of Sassicaia!
Blend: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot
95 Points James Suckling
Aromas of currants, cedar, mahogany, bark and orange peel say this is distinctly Tuscan. It’s medium-bodied with softness and freshness that bring you back for more. Very soft yet fine tannins. Juicy and subtle. So delicious now. Drink or hold.
93 Points DecanterAlmost equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Guidalberto remains impressive value for the quality on offer, but buyers should be aware that 2024 is a lighter offering with less density of fruit than in previous years. But those who embrace the vintage will be rewarded with a juicy dark berry core with velvety tannins and flecks of cherry and pomegranate. Lifted herbal and floral aromatics make this so inviting. Breezy, easy and fun.
Winemaker Notes
Vibrant ruby color with layered aromatics of fresh vegetal notes, cassis, bergamot, and wild berries. Elegant, fresh palate with integrated tannins, saline lift, sapid fruit, and a long, precise finish marked by finesse and immediate drinkability.
Food Pairings
Pair with Bolognese and other meat sauce pastas, grilled pork and beef, and roasts.
About the Label
The label of Guidalberto depicts the Oratory of San Guido, and the wine is named after the family ancestor Guidalberto della Gherardesca, an agricultural pioneer in the Bolgheri area. It was in the first decades of the 1800’s when he built the first factories, and churches, and planned the avenue of cypress trees, the Viale dei Cipressi. These trees were initially used to mark the boundaries between the different crops. Guidalberto is from the producers of the legendary Sassicaia, with a more approachable drinkability and a great aging potential. It is a great expression of the Tenuta San Guido territory.
