93 Points James Suckling
Firm, peppery and well-structured, this is an excellent expression of the volcanic Cote-de-Brouilly terroir. And once you’ve taken that in, you pick up on the juiciness of the medium-bodied palate with black and blue berry fruit. Animating acidity in the long, structured finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
90 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2023 Côte de Brouilly crafted for Kermit Lynch is unfiltered and similar to the chateau’s version though with differing percentages of the parcels blended in. It bursts with expressive aromas of crushed violet petals, wild cherry and forest berries, accented by hints of cacao powder and sweet soil. Medium to full-bodied, it offers a lighter weight and an infused fruit character, with rounded tannins that provide gentle resistance, building up in tension as it progresses to define the finish. Delicate and approachable, this wine can be enjoyed in the near term, though a few years in bottle certainly wouldn't hurt.
Winemaker Notes
Cassis, blueberry, violets, plum, and blackberry. In other words, a whole lot of Beaujolais in one bottle! Drinks well in its youth and develops beautifully 3-8 years after the vintage
