The color is deep purple red, lively and brilliant. The scent is fresh, with fruity notes reminiscent of blackberry, red fruit jam and spicy hints of vanilla and toasted hazelnut. The taste is full and enveloping, with a slight acidic streak.It is paired best with roasted or grilled pork or lamb as well as tomato based pasta dishes like bolognaise. It is also paired well with charcuterie and cured meats like salumi.
