92 Points James Suckling
Fruit-driven and spicy, with aromas of cherries, red currants, citrus peel, and earth. The palate is lush and generous, with fine tannins, balanced acidity, and a textural, opulent mouthfeel. Well balanced.
91 Points The Tasting Panel
Cherries soaked in cinnamon are bright, with a vivid acidity. Rhubarb notes are intense mid-palate, along with sweet tobacco and red tea. Fragrant and fresh.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were de-stemmed and cold soaked for four days to extract their beautiful burgundy color, followed by two weeks of maceration before fermentation. This approach yields softer tannins and layered flavors. The wine opens with expressive aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, accented by hints of rose petal and subtle baking spice. On the palate, vibrant red berry flavors are layered with notes of cranberry and pomegranate, framed by soft tannins and bright acidity. A touch of vanilla adds depth, while a silky texture carries through to the elegant finish.
