92 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Vinified in concrete tanks and partially destemmed, the 2023 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition opens with aromas of spices, smoke and dark wild berries. Medium- to full-bodied, enveloping and concentrated, it is ample and well-balanced, built around a dense, gently grippy core of fruit and concluding with a penetrating, persistent finish. Matured for 12 months in a mix of foudres, large barrels and concrete tanks, this blend of 75% Grenache Noir, 11% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre and small proportions of Cinsault, Vaccarèse and Counoise (1% each) is more introverted at this stage than its 2022 counterpart.
92 Points Vinous
Bottled in March 2025, the sexy 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Tradition mixes 75% Grenache with 11% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, the remainder equally divided between Cinsault, Vaccarèse and Counoise. Strawberry jam, stemmy gradations and dried herbs soar from the glass, leading into a full-bodied, seamlessly structured red Châteauneuf that checks out with notable persistence on the spicy finish.
