92 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières (Domaine Louis Jadot) unites charm and tension, mingling aromas of pear and orange zest with nuances of white flowers, mint and vanilla pod in an inviting bouquet that's followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive palate. Winemaker Frédéric Barnier and his team have produced another strong portfolio chez Jadot, with a relatively abundant crop of charming, pure and demonstrative wines, with alcohol back in more normal territory after the highs of 2018, 2019 and 2020. As I've written before, in the cellar, foudres and 500-liter barrels now complement classic 228-liter pièces, a further evolution adapting to warmer, riper vintages. A cold room also helps chill down any fruit that's too warm when it enters the winery. 2022 is also the second vintage of organic conversion for the Domaine Louis Jadot and the Domaine Gagey.
64 Points Vinous
The 2022 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru pales against the Charmes, lacking the same sense of terroir expression. It’s quite creamy, missing the mineralité that this vineyard can provide. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy-textured opening. There’s good substance and much more complexity than the aromatics, a touch of white chocolate and almond enhancing the finish. The aromatics just need to up their game.
