The Il Borro 2022 Pian di Nova is an entry-level blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Sangiovese. This is a food-friendly and approachable red with upfront fruitiness, including black cherry from the Syrah and something brighter like navel orange from the Sangiovese. The bouquet also offers subtle tones of lilac and rose. The tannins are soft, and the wine delivers medium-plus intensity.

It’s a vibrant blend that best combines the spices from the Syrah with the fruitiness of the Sangiovese. This wine is particularly fresh and direct, with a real sense of brigthness and energy in terms of its primary fruit. The wine is medium dark in appearance with a mid-weight feel and plenty of fresh fruit and soft tannins to follow.
