91 Points Vinous

The 2023 Brouilly comes from 80- to 90-year-old vines on pure granite soils. It aged primarily in used oak with the rest in tank. This has an elegant bouquet, mixing very well-defined honts of pure red fruit, crushed stone and bergamont tea. The palate is framed by fine tannins, a keen line of acidity and sapidity. It's fresh and vibrant with a dash of black pepper on the aftertaste.

Winemaker Note

Alex Foillard's journey in the family business began early in life, instilling in him a deep respect for tradition and craftsmanship. Today, he is dedicated to preserving and advancing his family's legacy of producing exceptional, small-batch cru Beaujolais. This particular Brouilly is sourced from 50+ year-old vines rooted in classic granite soils. The wine is made using traditional whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts and is bottled without fining or filtration, allowing the purity and character of the terroir to shine through.
