Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot
91 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot, Hill Family's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the family's vineyards in the southern portions of Napa. The proportion of new French oak is limited, adding just hints of pencil shavings to the notes of black cherries and black olives. Medium to full-bodied, supple and easy to drink, with silky tannins on the finish.
91 Points James Suckling
The nose is savory and giving, with aromas of mulberry bush, mocha and earth. The palate is soft yet generous, with a full body, integrated acidity and tannins, and notes of blackcurrants, cocoa and cedar. Very well balanced and fresh.
Winemaker Notes
The 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon offers intense notes of dark fruits such as blackberry, cassis, and black cherry. Subtle hints of vanilla and mocha add depth, and the smooth texture on the palate leaves a lasting impression. The wine reveals layers of complexity with velvety tannins and flavors of cassis, plum, and chocolate, and the finish is long and elegant.
