The supple, pretty fruit shows ripe blackberries and fresh violets with a hint of earth and smoke. Although the wine is approachable now, one senses something is in reserve. The texture is firm and tannic, with a pronounced freshness that drives the wine to a pleasant finish. The majority of the fruit is from the lieu-dit Les Barreaux at the top of the slope, blended with grapes from the heavier clay soils of Les Communes.
