Colonia Las Liebres Bonarda is one of the most distinctive and approachable wines produced by Altos Las Hormigas, showcasing the winery’s commitment to organic farming and minimal intervention in Mendoza. Made from 100% Bonarda grapes—one of Argentina’s most widely planted yet historically underappreciated varieties—the wine reflects a fresh, vibrant style rather than heavy extraction or oak influence. Sourced primarily from pergola-trained vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, the grapes benefit from warm days and cool nights, helping preserve natural acidity and balance. Altos Las Hormigas emphasizes fermentation with native yeasts and aging in concrete, avoiding oak to highlight purity and terroir expression. The 2025 Colonia Las Liebres Bonarda follows this philosophy closely, with an earlier harvest that enhances energy, texture, and freshness in the final wine.
