99 Points Decanter
The 2022 Eliza’s was crafted by Andy Erickson, with Tony Biagi leading the blending. This is a gorgeous, deeply expressive wine, aged 18–20 months in 100% new French oak. It opens with pure blackberry fruit, accented by sagebrush, spearmint, and high-toned mineral and loamy earth aromatics. The palate is precise and impeccably structured, with superfine tannins and ironstone-driven mineral intensity, all carried by driving energy and remarkable precision. The lengthy, perfumed finish is shaped by profoundly layered tannins that melt seamlessly, lingering on an everlasting, elegant close—an awe-inspiring expression of the vintage.
96 Points James Suckling
So floral, fresh but rich, this blend contains a majority of cabernet franc aged in 100% new oak. Powerful, concentrated and alive in aromas of violets, tobacco leaf and espresso, together with iron, graphite, blackcurrant, black-olive and grilled-rosemary flavors. While concentrated and deep, it's a bit lighter and more elegant than more cabernet sauvignon-heavy blends
95 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Eliza's Red Wine is 54% Cabernet Franc and 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a bit less Franc than in 2021, despite winemaker Tony Biagi's assertion that this variety stood out in 2022. It's certainly a bit smoother and more elegant than the 2022 Highest Beauty but remains full-bodied and open-knit, marked by leafy and floral notes set against a backdrop of black cherries and dusty earth. Hedonistic and forward, it should be consumed over the next decade or so.
