92 Points Decanter

Easy-going, not too tannic, juicy, fresh and precise, with raspberry acidity. Good length, more structured than many Côtes-du-Rhônes. Tannins just a touch dry and fibrous compared to some finer Châteauneufs, but this is very good.

92 Points James Suckling

Deep, savory nose with notes of ripe black cherries and plum cake, plus minty and floral notes. In spite of the considerable power and generous tannin, this is very focused and elegant. The long, energetic finish suggests this has years of life ahead of it. Drink or hold.

Tasting Notes

Dark red; raspberry-blackberry airs lead the nose, with a touch of dried herbs, hay, la garrigue. The fruit is pure, uncluttered. The palate deals a good hand of soft richness, has a well established centre, rounded tannins in the wheel, a plump feel to it overall. The plum fruits are squeezy, ripe, the aftertaste lip smacking. It’s not a big structure, long-term play, but has homely, inviting qualities, to drink earlier than usual. From mid-2023. 2034-36 Oct 2021.
