Varietals: 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah
90 Points Wine Spectator
Lush and generous, with a lot of intensity and a floral lift to the notes of raspberry coulis and crushed cherry, this turns firm and structured on the palate, with grippy tannins and iron minerality driving the long finish. A hedonist's red, with a lot of warmth, weight and power. Syrah and Grenache.
Winemaker Notes
An amazing wine from the legendary Jean-Louis Chave from sourced grapes around the Rhône Valley, and some even say grapes are sourced from Châteauneuf du Pape. Roughly a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah that is both juicy and meaty. Light floral notes, raspberry, cherry, dark berries, and licorice. Cracked pepper and spice with medium body and lingering tannins make this a bit more serious than many other CdR on the market.
