The 2021 Baron de Brane is a very pretty, juicy second wine from Brane-Cantenac. Supple Merlot fruit drives this racy, open-knit offering. Dark cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, spice and a hint of new oak are front and center. The 2021 is impeccably balanced and delicious.
Winemaker Note
Beautiful, clear garnet colour. The nose is intense and shows a nice acidity, with aromas of red fruits such as fresh raspberries and redcurrants. These notes are accompanied by a well-integrated touch of spice, adding a lovely freshness. The attack is supple and round. This wine has very fine tannins. Freshness dominates, with aromas of fresh red fruit and spices. This is a smooth and very pleasant wine with a lovely aromatic power. Pair with beef tenderloin, pine nuts, potato Macaire and carrot tops, short cooking juices.
