97 Points Decanter

One of the great sweet wines of world, this is utterly delicious with a perfect balance of tension and succulence. Gently-spiced rich lemon meets lime zest and zinging minerality, along with soft white pepper notes that help to elongate the palate. 95% one-fill oak and 5% acacia.

95 Points James Suckling

Very ripe and heady nose of apricots and peach jam, straw, dried honeysuckle, caramel, mango puree and candied papaya. Somehow, it all remains fresh. Full and round on the palate. Medium-sweet to sweet with medium acidity. A dense, oily finish. One of the great sweet wines of South Africa.

94 Points Wine Spectator

Creamed persimmon, yellow apple, quince and mirabelle plum notes weave together seamlessly in this version, gilded with heather, honey and green tea accents. This is rich, but the brightness and a lovely bitter orange flash add detail on the finish. Muscat de Frontignan.

94 Points Vinous

The bouquet bursts from the glass with marmalade, honeysuckle, orange rind and tropical fruit, all beautifully defined, if perhaps just a little waxier than I recall. The lively, viscous palate presents layers of fresh apricot, honey and orange zest, leading to a precise, vibrant finish. I love the chutzpah of this Vin de Constance, and though it will age, I do not begrudge anyone drinking it now.

93 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Beginning with a golden core, the 2014 Vin de Constance Natural Sweet Wine, along with the 2012 vintage, was made in the old cellar. Opening to delightful florals and sweet, spiced pomaceous fruit compote, the wine delivers a rich, round, complex nose with succulent floral elements. The palate displays exotic spices, with a brilliantly balanced structure, mouthwatering acidity and succulent fruit sweetness. Currently starting to show a touch of maturity as the floral expression begins to wilt slightly, this beauty should deliver a food-friendly expression for years to come.

Winemaker Notes

Bright and yellow gold in color. The nose displays aromas of citrus, ginger and fresh nutmeg. Elegant, well rounded in acidity with a creamy mouthfeel, the flavors follow through offering a zesty mid palate. Full and refreshing, the wine concludes with a long and concentrated finish.
