The 2022 Lanessan is bold and punchy right out of the gate. A blast of blue/purplish fruit, lavender, sage, menthol and licorice makes a strong first impression. Lanessan speaks with authority. It is quite assertive yet also poised, with fine balance and plenty of potential for the future.

Blackberries, currants, tobacco leaf, underbrush, and fennel on the nose let you know the wine is going to be good. And with the first sip, you are not disappointed due to all the currants, roundness, and ripe, sweet, blackberries with freshness on display. Drink from 2026-2047.

Concentrated fruits on the nose and palate, lovely intensity of pure fruit - this has clarity and a juicy core. Feels a touch tannic right now, covering up some of the fruit, but the initial expression was really delightful and this should be nice once the tannins melt a little. This has style and a juicy fun friendliness.
 
Winemaker Note:
Friendly and open-knit in feel, with a loam thread curling around easygoing plum and cherry compote notes. The finish is coated with singed vanilla. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2025.
