Brisk acidity, restrained alcohol, judicious use of new oak, elegant mouthfeel and silky tannins, check. This Pinot Noir is definitely in my wheelhouse. Its aromas are the purest expression of blackberries, with touches of Thai basil, violets and toast. Not-quite-ripe blackberries then meld beautifully with tangy orange zest and hibiscus tea flavors. Fantastic juice. 
 
Winemaker Note
Broad and energized, this wine sends flavors of mulled rhubarb, strawberry jam, red peony and cherries jubilee swirling from the glass. Huckleberry and lightly toasted pine nut comes through with herbaceous notes of tarragon and fennel on its heels. The palate has weight yet is backed by a nervy acidity, leading to an elongated finish.
