Travaglini's 2022 Gattinara is such a classy, polished wine. Sweet macerated cherry, pine, blood orange, spice and new leather are all lifted in the glass. Silky tannins wrap it all up in style. This is a very sexy wine from Travaglini. All the elements are so well balanced. What a total delight.

This is bright, with a crisp edge to its tart cherry, strawberry, rose hip and mineral flavors. Chalky tannins are present but integrated, with a lingering, iron-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2027 through 2039.

Gattinara sits on volcanic soils at the foot of the Alps—the only place where Nebbiolo grows on porphyry, granite and iron. Travaglini's 2022 is bright and transparent ruby red with lifted aromas of cherry, raspberry, and mineral precision. A classical, structured wine from Piedmont's hidden gem, aged 36 months with 24 months in Slavonian oak. Juicy on entry with gripping tannins and dancing acidity that carries through to a savory finish.
