94 Points Jeb Dunnuck

An outstanding wine from Fullerton, from a site planted in 1982 and 1990 from own-rooted vines, the 2019 Pinot Noir Fir Crest Vineyard takes on a distinctive mineral-tinged aromatic profile, with notes of graphite, black raspberry, and fresh pine needles. Medium-bodied, with broader shoulders, ripe tannins, ripe, balanced fruit, and earth tones on the finish, it retains great purity of fruit through its long finish. It’s showing wonderfully now but is an age-worthy wine that will cruise through the next decade.

93 Points James Suckling

Dried-strawberry, citrus and iron aromas follow through to a medium to full body with firmness and intensity. Solid length.

ETA: Late March/Early April

Winemaker Note

A brilliant garnet ruby color shines in the glass. The nose is seductive and vinous, showing a mix of earthy mushroom, sweet spices, fir resin, incense, vanilla, black currant, and plum skin. The palate is an excellent example of the deft touch of 2019, light on its feet with youthful tannins and mouth cleansing acidity. There are notes of black cherry, damson plum, and forest floor, with the deep spice and purple flowers that are characteristic of this site. Perfect with a wide variety of food, from mushroom dishes and roasts to vegetable based meals and charcuterie boards.
