Cardwell Hills protects this important butterfly species by dedicating portions of their property as a secure Fenders Blue habitat and breeding area. Their wine, a homage to the cause, has aromas of loamy soil, boysenberries and grilled steak. Three-alarm acidity and firm tannins frame the wine's ripe Bing cherry, lemon zest and wet stone flavors. Cheers to Fenders Blue butterflies everywhere.
Winemaker Notes
Cardwell Hill Cellar's Fender's Blue Pinot Noir is named for the protected species of butterfly found in specific areas of Benton County, Oregon- including in the winery. The wine displays sour cherry and raspberry flavors on the palate, that linger in a long, smooth finish. Pair with salmon, fish, shellfish as well as game birds and venison.
