95 Points Vinous

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is shockingly young. Dark and brooding, the 2006 is a big, massively constituted wine that will thrill readers lucky enough to own it for many decades to come. Time in the glass brings out a whole range of svaory and earthy notes. Wild black cherry, chocolate, licorice, spice, and leather develop in the glass adding further layers of complexity. Amazingly, the 2006 still has room to grow.

Tasting Notes

Lots of dry elegance in this wine. It's also more acidic than your typical Napa Cabernet, with a tart bite. The tannins are young and forceful, and the finish is totally dry. As presently constituted, it's somewhat tough and lean. But the core of cherries and blackberries suggests some degree of ageabilty. Hold until 2015.
