ETA: Late March/Early April

The 2019 ‘Grand Cheval’ is a one of a kind wine that was created by the late Ken Evenstad years ago in blending Seven Hills Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with Domaine Serene Estate Pinot Noir. This edition comes from cooler vintages both in Walla Walla and Oregon. It is very silky and soft upon entry with Black Forest Cake, exotic spices, and black currants that mingle with salty and silty soil undertones. The bright acidity and wonderful tannic structure as well as the weight suggests this will cellar well for another fifteen plus years.

Dark chocolate cherries, cassis, bay leaves, dried lavender, peppercorns and black olives. It’s savory and spicy, full-bodied, held in check with tangy and bright acidity and accompanied by sleek tannins. Polished. Blend of syrah from Walla Walla and pinot noir from Dundee Hills. Drink or hold.
Winemaker Notes
The 2019 'Grand Cheval' combines the restrained yet complex notes of dark red fruit and savory pepper while balancing its vibrancy through structured tannins, creating an elegant wine that is perfect for sharing.
