Alecias Specialty Foods
LOCAL: Made in Leeds, Alabama!
Alecia created her irresistible chutney with the same care and quality ingredients that every southern woman did years ago when she was “putting up” food for winter (in the days before processed foods). We carry her delicious Tomato Chutney.
Bottega Sandwich
Combine grilled chcken breast, caramelized onions, sauteed portabella
mushrooms and Alecia’s Tomato Chutney on focaccia bread.
Baked Brie With Chutney
One wheel of brie sliced in half. Spread Alecia’s Tomato Chutney on the
bottom half. Place other half on top and wrap entire wheel with
puff pastry (in the frozen section of the market). Bake at 350 for
15-20 minutes or until brown. Serve with crackers or french bread.
Charlie’s Salad Dressing
Add two heaping tablespoons of Alecia’s Tomato Chutney to a package
of Good Season’s salad dressing after you have followed the package
directions. Be creative with raspberry vinegar or your own favorite
flavored vinegar and oil.
Chutney Marinade For Grilling
Marinate pork tenders, chicken breast or tuna in dressing (above) for
at least half an hour. Add your favorite fresh or dried herbs (rosemary,
thyme and Herbs De Provence go well with this marinade). Grill and
serve with Alecia’s Tomato Chutney.
