We tasted the 2015 B.V. Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve. What a treat! It is always fun to revisit some wines that have been going strong for over 100 years. So often we get caught up in “the new kid on the block” and forget about some of the pioneers of California wine. Trust us…you don’t want to miss these! The 2014 B.V. Tapestry is a steal at $39.99!
2015 B.V. Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve
Rated 98 JS, 97 JD, 96 WA
“A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 4% Merlot, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour was aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, 90% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers a profound nose of baked blackberries, Black Forest cake, Christmas pudding and Chinese five spice with hints of rose hip tea, cedar chest and mincemeat pie. Full-bodied, super rich and wonderfully concentrated, the palate provides a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins, finishing long and spicy. At 15% alcohol, it is a beautifully rich, ripe, opulent expression with bags of compelling freshness to offset all that decadence.” WA

2014 B.V. Reserve Tapestry Red Blend

“Perhaps the best Tapestry ever made with currant, chocolate and berry aromas and flavors.
Full body, layered and rich with a wonderful depth and generosity yet always focused and poised. Better in 2019 but already delicious.”
